Two foreigners were detained on September 5 for fighting with cabin crew and destroying plane equipment respectively, Shanghai Daily reports.
Police refused to disclose the name or nationality of either passenger.
A 23 year old on a Spring Airlines flight from Guangzhou to Shanghai complained to cabin crew about the hour and a half delay. When a crew member surnamed Du approached him, the passenger allegedly abused him in Chinese and hit him. He was detained for five days.
One the same day, another foreigner on a China Eastern Airlines flight from Melbourne to Shanghai got drunk before attacking the TV screen on the back of the seat in front of him (maybe he’d seen what those screen do to small children), causing several thousand yuan worth of damage. He was briefly detained at Pudong airport and forced to pay an 18,000 yuan fine.
