One of the students suspected of brutally murdering a middle school teacher in Fuzhou, Jiangxi province has turned himself in to the Shanghai police.
According to the Pudong Bureau of Public Security, the student surnamed Lei called the police, confessing that he had murdered his teacher and wanted to surrender.
According to Xiong Haishui, a school administrator, the teacher surnamed Sun had an altercation with the student after finding him playing on his mobile phone. The teacher then confiscated the phone and returned it to the student’s parents.
Lei complained about Sun to the vice principal the next day but just three hours later, when Sun was preparing lessons in the office, Lei used a fruit knife to slash the teacher’s throat.
Sun was pronounced dead before medical services arrived.
