Currently the airport night bus service runs between Pudong and Hongqiao airport Terminal 1 with a 40 minute interval from 11pm onwards.
Of the 50 routes, 22 will connect the city’s main bus hubs to Metro stations while the rest will connect large residential areas to public facilities like schools, hospitals and commercial centres.
In the meantime, 38 existing bus routes will be cancelled and 114 lines adjusted to improve the traffic network. Those cancelled will include routes running along major thoroughfares like Huaihai Road, Pudong Avenue and Gonghexin Road
