The National Meteorological Center issued a yellow alert for Super Typhoon Usagi, the third highest on the country’s four-tier warning system.
“It is the strongest typhoon in the west Pacific region this year,” according to a weather forecaster at the Taiwan Central Weather Bureau.
IThey predicted that Usagi will hit a coastal region between the north of south China’s Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and southeastern Fujian province in the evening of September 22.
The storm is projected to hit the east and north Taiwan, the Diaoyu Islands, south of East China Sea and the northeast of South China Sea.
Looks like Shanghai is safe, but do expect some mild showers and thunderstorms.
