A Hong Kong man who had completed his prison sentence for killing a cat was sent back to prison for a further four months, the Standard reports.
48 year old An Haizhou strangled a cat with a nylon rope in Tseun Wan in May, severing the animal’s neck and leaving it covered in blood. An was drunk at the time of the incident.
Originally sentenced to three months in prison, the prosecution appealed the verdict and were successful, just as An was finishing the shorter term. A Tseun Wan magistrate extended the sentence to seven months.
An shouted “miscarriage of justice” as he was led from court.
