Looks like the US can finally get in on that baby panda cuteness usually only enjoyed by China. The Atlanta Zoo panda twins are over 90-days old, marking the first time that giant panda twins have survived in the US.
However, like their two older brothers, Xi Lan and Po, the panda twins remain the property of China and will return to the Chengdu center when they are about 3 years old.
The twins, simply called “Cub A” and “Cub B” at the moment will be named very soon with the public open to voting till tomorrow for the following options:
1. Mei Lun and Mei Hua
Meaning “Lun Lun’s twin cubs born in the USA.”
2. Mei Lun and Mei Huan
These names come from an ancient idiom, “Mei Lun Mei Huan,” and has come to mean something indescribably beautiful and magnificent.
3. Tian Lun and Tian Le
These names come from the Chinese idiom, “Tian Lun Zhi Le,” which means the joy of family life or family happiness.
4. Lan Tian and Bi Shui
The names, meaning blue sky and clear water, are derived from another Chinese idiom, “Lan Tian Bi Shui,” used to describe beautiful scenery.
5. Da Lan and Xiao Lan
These names literally translate to “bigger one” (Cub B) and “smaller one” (Cub A) of the Atlanta-born twins.
Guess Muhammad, Tyrone, Archibald, or Dave were out of the question.
