Jimmy Kimmel, who apparently learned nothing about the politics of puppeteering children after his public discord with
rapper divine messenger Kanye West earlier this month, has now pissed off the masses with a recent skit aired on his show wherein one child suggests that Americans deal with their debt crisis by ‘killing everyone in China’.
US network ABC on October 16 aired the clip which featured a roundtable of kids sipping American flag juice boxes and discussing the country’s current political happenings. When the conversation moved on to the subject of the government shutdown and the debt owed to China, one cheeky tyke suggested that the best solution was to “kill everyone in China”.
The kid’s comment sparked outrage among many Americans and has even led to a White House petition boycotting Kimmel’s decision to air the skit, saying that it “promotes racial hatred” and compares to “rhetoric in Nazi Germany against Jewish people”.
The clip is creating buzz on Weibo as well, with some users writing that the skit was in bad taste and that “Chinese are probably the only people that the U.S. mainstream media are free to publicly insult”.
Other users, however, felt that Kimmel meant no intentional harm and that “people should not be too serious” about the moppy-haired little boy’s comments.
