After the giant rubber ducky in Taoyuan, Taiwan died alla rear end explosion, residents were noticeably crestfallen. Fortunately their sadness may be short-lived as nearby Kaohsiung pledges to lend them its identical oversized bath toy free of charge until they can get theirs fixed. Though the fact that such a beloved art work can be replaced like a spare tire does kind of take away from some of the majesty.
Not such a slouch itself, the duck in Kaohsiung, which attracted 4 million visitors and generated approximately 1 billion yuan in economic benefits during its one-month display in the southern port earlier this year.
Taoyuan’s duck will reportedly take seven days to repair and cost 1.3 million yuan.
