The lovely dish of Placenta Soup is (uncomfortably) popular in some regions of China, probably just as a way to call foreigner’s bluffs that “nobody would ever eat that.”
This couple in Dongguan, Guangdong province, have the dish thrice a month to keep fit and healthy (and bloodthirsty).

A few years ago in Guangzhou human placentas were available for 20RMB a pop, which is a goddamn bargain if I’ve ever seen one.
