Art lovers get ready! The best paintings from the Princely Collections of Liechtenstein have been brought to Beijing by His Serene Highness Prince Alois of Liechtenstein and other royal family members, marking the first time a royal collection has come to China.
President Xi Jinping has sent a congratulatory letter, that read the exhibition was an important event for cultural exchange between the two countries, and will increase understanding and friendship between the two cultures.
The Princely Collection of Liechtenstein is among the most important private collections in the world that contains some major works of European art spanning five centuries including works by Peter Paul Rubens and Anthony Van Dyck.
The exhibition, which features 100 oil paintings, woodcuts and tapestries, is now open at the National Museum of China and runs until February 15th next year.
