The boneless face, the Üter Zörker haircut, the all-around surly toddler demeanor—the only difference between this Kim Jong-un impersonator out of Hong Kong and the original Dennis Rodman BFF and DPRK supreme leader is that he is incredibly popular.
Lookalike Howard, who refused to give his surname to reporters for fear of obvious consequences, said that he had often been the subject of endless jokes due to the uncanny similarities he shared in appearance with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, according to the Telegraph.
After a picture of him posing as Kim Jong-un went viral last April on Facebook, he has gained a legion of fans as well as requests to impersonate the leader in advertisements.
“The key to becoming Kim is to always look unhappy and dissatisfied. It is his trademark,” Howard was quoted as saying in the Telegraph report.
He said that sometimes peoples’ reactions to his getup are so intense that he is forced to wear a baseball cap and sunglasses to avoid excess attention during his daily activities.
The 35-year-old, who previously performed in bands and produced music, said that his friends and family have been extremely supportive of his new career.
“My friends and family all think it is hilarious that I have the guts to play an evil dictator. In fact they are quite proud of it,” he was quoted as saying.
“Keeping up with Kim’s look is extremely easy and enjoyable. All I have to do is eat and eat and then eat some more,” Howard said in the report.
