Turkey Day arrives in Shanghai (Shangsgiving?) on November 28 and expats are no doubt dreading another Thanksgiving “feast” of tepid Suntory and Ya! Tu Dou ketchup chips. Luckily, we’ve rounded up the heartiest Thanksgiving dinners around town that’ll ensure you make like a turkey and get stuffed.
Piro: If you’re looking for a traditional Thanksgiving “gobble,” (see what we did there) it’s hard to beat Piro’s all-you-can-eat/drink extravaganza with roasted turkey, holiday ham, eggnog, and lush desserts. Maya: Spice up your Thanksgiving at Maya, where they’ll be carving Chipotle butter roasted turkey, chorizo chestnut stuffing, green bean with pancetta chilli-cranberry sauce and a side of roasted garlic and cilantro studded whipped potatoes. Finish off the feast with pumpkin pie empanadas. Wash it all down with Etcetra Cabernet Sauvignon and spiced egg-nog.

Boxing Cat Brewery: Head up Thanksgiving dinner at either Boxing Cat location for butter roasted turkey, bourbon maple glazed ham, pork belly mac n’ cheese, spiced apple pie, spiced pumpkin ale, and more. There will be two seatings: one from 5-8pm, and another from 8:30-11:30pm. Or if you think there’s “no place like home for the holidays,’ you can get your Thanksgiving feast to go as well. Reservations are essential by for both takeout and eating in by November 24.
