The 1st Seasons opening: Restaurants like Ultraviolet can be considered cinematic, but The 1st Seasons (which had its grand opening yesterday), is actually modeled after cinema itself with a facade that evokes old-fashioned rolls of film stock. The fare by Chef Leo Wang is European fusion with signature dishes like roasted sous-vide spring chicken with bean chorizo, wines divided into old and new world vintages, and over 400 cocktails, and craft beers.

Kwei Mun Lung: This recently-opened Hangzhou tea house serves some of the cheapest Hangzhou fare in town, offering many dishes running you south of 20RMB. Highlights include Vietnamese simmered beef (68RMB), roast meat fried rice (22RMB), and baby spinach salad with cumin (16RMB).
