The six-year-old boy Guo Bin (Binbin) who had his eyes gouged out by his aunt in August is now being discharged from the hospital after doctors successfully fitted him with prosthetic eyes and he has remained in good condition.
The C-MER Dennis Lam Eye Hospital said that Binbin had recovered well from his eye surgery and he will be released from the hospital on Thursday, CRIEnglish reports.
Local authorities in Shanxi province said that they will assist in the next step of finding Binbin a suitable school.
On September 10, Binbin underwent surgery to receive an artificial eye in his right eye and eyelid transplant on his left.
He received regular psychological guidance and visual rehabilitation training, and doctors say Binbin has now become less dependent on his mother and more confident in his abilities.
Let’s hope the boy finds peace and some sense of normalcy back in his home as he moves on to another chapter of his life after this terrible tragedy.
