An angry Hong Kong mother allegedly shook a door to the point of it being cracked and broken after teachers at her daughter’s primary school in the New Territories accused her of child abuse.
SCMP reports that teachers at the Ma On Shan school called the mother in for a meeting after they had discovered bruises on the 11-year-old’s limbs. Upon being questioned, the woman reportedly grabbed the glass entrance door and shook it so hard that it became cracked.
Staff called the police and the woman was subsequently arrested in connection with criminal damage and child abuse.
“The mother is suspected of having whipped the girl with a stick over academic issues on an earlier occasion,” the spokeswoman said.
Reports say that the mother, 42, had been upset by her daughter’s recent academic performance in school.
She’s now been released on bail.
