This week in Weibo controversy: An account claiming to belong to Henan’s official travel advisory website uploaded a photo featuring three topless women posing behind very sheer veils on Tuesday, stirring up excitement among netizens as well as scrutiny.
The photo features three nearly-nude women standing in front of the scenic Shennong Mountain in the provincial city of Qinyang, a popular place for tourists. “Click here for your economical trip!” the post said.
The account removed the photo, saying that it was taken during a “human body photography” event from 2007 and that they were not trying to promote pornography. The account itself was later deleted, and the Henan tourism bureau now claims that it was fake and says that no such event ever occurred there.
We personally think it makes the tourist hot spot looks more enticing than ever.
