A stampede killed 14 people and injured 10 more at a mosque in Guyuan city, Northwest China’s Ningxia Hui autonomous region on January 5.
According to reports, people had gathered at a mosque in the Xiji Town of Guyuan city to hand out religious foods during an event, and the large crowd of attendees pushed and squeezed each other, causing an unexpected stampede.
All the injured were immediately hospitalized. Four of the injured are in critical condition. The investigation is still underway.
