Shanghai Business News this week reported that China Eastern Airline passengers who travel to Shanghai
will be given free admission tickets to Shanghai Disneyland after the resort opens in 2015.
According to CCTV, the decision came after the airline signed an agreement with Disney Destinations to promote exclusive passenger services for Disneyland resorts in the US, France, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
Meanwhile, the Shanghai Disney Resort has reportedly accomplished “construction milestones” in the past week. The first two hotels of the resort have been topped off with concrete and work on the giant artificial mountain has gone underway.
Shanghai’s Metro authorities have also announced that Line 11 will run Disney-themed trains on the extensions taking visitors from Luoshan Road station to Shanghai Disneyland and plans fore the semi-underground Disneyland Metro station have been unveiled by the city.
Shanghai Disneyland is still set on course to be opened next year, so…jiayou!
UPDATE: China Eastern has contacted us and said that the agreement with Disney Destinations does not specifically include free admission tickets to Shanghai Disneyland.
China Eastern Airline and Disney’s international department will cooperate to brand promotion in Hong Kong and Shanghai, among other locations, “to provide more abundant, convenient premium products and dedicated service.”
