Visitors at the Ping Ding Mountain Forest Park in Liaoning were surprised to find around 300 hundred stone steps scaling the mountain covered in chalk writing that reads ‘Darling, I’m wrong’ on January 25. Photos of the epic apology were posted online as many netizens wondered ‘How big was his mistake?’
“It is countless,” a netizen named Liu said of the apology, adding that he saw the writing as he was climbing the mountain in Benxi City the day before.
The writing became part of the mountain’s “landscape” and attracted several onlookers, Of course, some girls even paid special visits to the mountain with their boyfriends so that perhaps they could “learn” something from it.
Some residents recalled that few days ago they saw a young man holding a bundle of chalk and writing the words on the steps. “We did not have the chance to ask him why,” they said.
A patrol staff member said that the gesture was thoughtful but annoying. The words will soon be cleared, but it will take a lot of effort to scrub off the chalk because of the positioning of the writing.
