Looks like silly season is upon us. A property advertisement showing a subway station entrance was put up in Guangzhou and apparently looked so realistic that several pedestrians tried walking into it, only to realize that it was just a poster, Southern Metropolis Daily reported.
The advert with 3-D effects in Tianhe district shows an image of the metro entrance for subway line 6, which is still under construction.
“I was tricked by the picture a few days ago while driving a relative to a railway station,” a local man surnamed Cheng said in the report. “We decided to take the underground to avoid traffic jams. I even stopped the car and unloaded all of my relative’s luggage…However, upon closer inspection I found that the ‘entrance’ was actually a picture,” he said.
A number of other people are reported to have tried entering the fake station entrance, called “Baocuiyuan”, and Guangzhou Metro staff are now trying to get it removed, even if it means taking the case to court.
