Xi Jinping’s ridiculously effective moment of political PR when he oh-so-casually dropped in on the Jingfeng Dumpling Store in Beijing continues to be bolstered by a China-based online tour agency, which has rolled out a 5-day Beijing tour package that includes a stop at the famed baozi shop.
For (a minimum of) 4000 yuan, tourists will be ferried to the dumpling store to have a taste of the President’s Set Meal in addition to taking in the sights and sounds of Beijing over five days, according to Nandu.com.
Xiecheng Travel Agency, the tour agency behind this move (which the CCP would probably heartily approve of), also offers a day trip to the baozi store starting at 1100 yuan.
A total of 2 million people patronize the 183 branches of Jingfeng Dumpling Store in Beijing on a daily basis, with more than 16 million baozis sold every day. A few of them, once, sold to the president.
