A passenger plane nosedived into the runway of Xinzheng International Airport in Zhengzhou, Henan province due to a landing gear fault on Tuesday evening.
The JR1533 flight run by China Eastern Airlines‘ Joy Air was carrying 37 passengers and seven crew, though none were hurt in the incident which took place around 6.33pm, according to Xinhuanet.
Eyewitnesses told reporters from Dahebao that the landing gear of the Modern Ark 60 plane nearly broke into half before the plane slid a distance across the runway. The plane, a domestic aircraft which can seat about 50-60 passengers, has been removed from the runway and Xinzheng International Airport is temporarily closed.
