Wonderful. A Chinese ‘local tyrant’ made the trek to Liverpool, England, to get his heap of iPhones customized by luxury design company Stuart Hughes, who decked-out the devices with jewels and gold. The man then took all 2,000 iPhones and played dominoes with them, presumably for spite.
Each phone features a “black diamond” set into the Home button, 53 diamonds looping the Apple logo, white diamonds circling the screen, and a pure gold phone body. The devices totalled more than one hundred million yuan, and took more than 9 weeks to produce. They are the most expensive iPhones ever made and, by extension, probably the most expensive dominoes set-up of all time and, by further extension, a f*ckload of wasted money.
Gold jewelry seems to have become the new love for various local tyrants itching to ‘burn’ their money. Stuart Hughes is there to help, and implants jewelry into nearly all of its luxury proucts.
Another French luxury brand By Atelier integrated watch technology into the iPhone 5s shell, along with diamonds, gold, sapphire crystals, crocodile skin and other rare materials, and freaking $81,000 of pure gold. Money well spent.
