As the new semester just began, a primary school in Wuhan devised a new tactic to prevent myopia (short-sightedness) in students by installing these ridiculous railings on all their desks.
The principal of the school introduced the restrictive batch of desks and chairs for students, urging them to form correct habits with their eyes.
It’s been estimated that some 80 percent of Asians are myopic, compared with just 30 percent of Western populations. Past studies have shown links between environmental factors and myopia, but researchers are still trying to investigate its genetic causes.
