A Chongqing University student wrote and illustrated this 9-page guide to WeChat for his elderly parents who, like many people above a certain age, had no idea how to use one of those new-fangled smartphones.
The pamphlet starts with a message: “Dear mom and dad, I’m not able to accompany you very often, and since you have trouble learning WeChat by yourselves, you can just read this tutorial. I hope this can solve the problem.”
Zhang Ming, the student, brought two HTC phones to his parents over Spring Festival, and as determined to teach them to use WeChat. But, after staying at home for 12 days and attempting to teach them to use the app, his parents still had no idea what was going on. Hence, these fantastic instructions.
Zhang’s parents have since mastered WeChat, and now message him constantly. “Talking to our son, knowing what he’s doing every day, make us feel safe.” Zhang’s Mom said.
