After winning the pointless Confucious Peace Prize, legendary Chinese hybrid rice breeding expert Yuan Longping has been nominated for this year’s Nobel Peace Prize’s along with Putin, who was also considered for the Confucius Peace Prize.
He and his Indian geneticists swami natanz were nominated because of a great contribution to food security in Asia. Yuan longping’s nomination showed that there were concerns about biotechnology’s role in promoting world peace.
Putin was laughably nominated because of his role in the solution of the Syrian crisis last year. Norwegian media analysis points out that Mr Putin’s recent surge in Ukraine move may dampen his chances, however.
The winner of this prestigious (but politically-biased award), will win 10 million Swedish kronor ($1.24 million). The winner will be announced on October 10th this year.
