China’s love of the label makes vintage trade in Shanghai hard to come by, but it’s looking like March is the month for thriftsters to get their hands dirty in racks of shoulder-padded, garishly bejeweled blazers (if you’re lucky). Please loosen the grip on your Forever 21 shopping bags and take advantage of the following vintage fairs going on this month:
Kick things off with a visit to UTAU Vintage Fair Vol. 3 running March 8 and 9 at 36 Tai’An road. It’s free to get in and the event goes from 12.30 pm until 8.30pm.
March 22 and 23 sees Ke Center for the Contemporary Arts holding Nautilus Vintage Fair: Wondering in the Garden. One day entry costs 20RMB or 35RMB gets you entry to both days. Saturday the fair opens at 11 a.m. and closes at 8 p.m. and Sunday runs 2 p.m. until 8. More information can be found here.
Address: Ke Center for the Contemporary Arts, 613-B KaiXuan road
And finally, be sure to not* miss out on Fei Vintage Fair at Yun Space DaNing Showroom on March 29 and 30. Again, one day entry will set you back 20RMB and 2 days 35RMB, open 1 p.m. until 9pm both days.
Address: Yun Space DaNing Showroom, 602 PengJiang road
See you amid the mothballs.
