Two young women from Hong Kong were arrested in Tainan on Sunday on suspicion of theft and vandalism after they left a rental room they were staying in looking like a garbage-strewn, Maxi-pad-littered hellhole.
The renters, identified as 20-year-old Zeng and 19-year-old Chiou, arrived in Taiwan and rented out the flat in Taipei’s Da’an District in January. The two made headlines after fleeing the room and leaving it in an utter state of disarray, breaking furniture and stealing a television set.
Police detained the two yesterday at a low-cost hotel room in Tainan which they apparently also managed to trash, according to Want China Times.
The women were taken to a nearby police station after police confirmed their identities, and when questioned, the two allegedly said they planned to spend the rest of their money then commit suicide. They were carrying around 330 USD in various currencies.
