A man in Shanghai was arrested when he’d stolen a Bentley then tried to return it after crashing it, according to Shanghai Daily.
The 25-year-old man, surnamed Liu, reportedly stole the car when he saw it unattended in the parking lot of a 4s shop. After breaking into the trunk and finding a spare set of keys, he jumped in the the front seat and drove it to his home in Zhejiang province.
A few days later, however, Liu’s joyride was cut short when he crashed the car, and his friend of good conscience told him that he’d better take it back.
Liu drove the Bentley back into the city and parked it where he’d found it, leaving a note and compensation for the owner. As he left the parking area, however, he was immediately caught by police.
