Rumors are circulating online that this 1,316RMB bill Chengdu hotpot bill is none other than that of Michelle Obama and company’s. We put “rumors” in colossal quote marks, seeing how this is largely unfounded, but one can hope.
A closer look at Flotus’ bill
According to the bill, the first lady and company apparently ate hotpot with Australian beef, potatoes, quail eggs, dried bamboo shoots, noodles, and enjoyed a traditional Sichuan face-changing performance. C’mon Flotus, where’s that fish head you promised? The fact that the bill says 20 people, while only four are pictured, is one clue that this is a fraud. Though some speculate the bill included Obama’s entourage members not pictured, so yeah, perhaps it makes sense.
And if it is true (screw it, we want to believe), it’s another neat peek into a fun-filled China trip of tai chi, ping pong, a fashion-off with China’s first lady, and other activities that’ll delay addressing the political elephant in the room. Lady Obama should just make sure not to eat too much, lest she have to use one of those “super different” toilets.
