Having arrived in France on Tuesday for a four-day visit to mark the country’s 50-year anniversary of full diplomatic ties with China, glamorous First Lady Peng Liyuan made a visit to the Necker-Enfants Malades Hospital in Paris, where she gave stuffed panda toys to patients in the asthma ward of the children’s hospital.
She was accompanied by WHO Director-General Margaret Chan Fung Fu-chun and Marisol Touraine, the Minister of Social Affairs and Health of France, looking dapper in a blue blazer. Before she left, a child she had given a stuffed panda toy to motioned that he wanted to hug her. She then crouched down by a boy’s bedside and hugged him before affectionately taking his face in her hands.
