It looks like that Armageddon-worthy hailstorm and flood that swept Hong Kong could’ve been a mere overture. At 4:30 am, the Hong Kong observatory predicted severe thunderstorms and more hail for days to come throughout Southern China. So plan your travels wisely, lest you end up like these unfortunate Dragonair passengers. SCMP reports:
China’s National Meterological Centre said earlier this week that torrential rains were expected to continue pouring on southern China, after killing at least 21 people in the last week and bringing chaos to air and road travel.
Heavy rain will continue in Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Hunan and Jiangxi until at least Wednesday, it said. Hailstorms could still occur in southern and central parts of Guangdong, it added.
