We take our hats off to this Chinese lady, whose oddball fashion designs including precariously-balanced plant pots and dresses made from nightmarish combinations of plastic bags posted on her weibo account have shot her to overnight fame.
Could Wang Shou Ying be a female version of the heart-stopping homeless hunk Brother Sharp, or is she merely a hipster-wannabe? Some netizens have called her out on that same damn expression that she wears for every one of her shots, while others noted the “indescribable sense of abstract beauty” her creations emanate. Her weibo account, named “Wang Shouying is a Fairy”, has close to 30,000 followers.
She writes on one of her Weibo posts:
My hat designs are unparalleled – In Western countries, members of the aristocracy would always be seen in hats at public events and social gatherings. In this way, hats have become a symbol of one’s identity.
The Queen will definitely be pleased to hear that.
