A truck driver somehow survived after being pierced through the body with a tree and pinned to his seat during a car collision in Kaifeng, Henan province. Oof.
It took doctors at the Henan University Huaihe Hospital around four and a half hours to remove the six-meter-long tree trunk (ten centimeters in diameter) from the 40-year-old man, surnamed Li, who’s now recovering in the hospital.
Li was driving behind a truck loaded with trees and landscaping materials on April 6 when he rear-ended it, causing the trunk to shoot through the window and, subsequently, his body.
Rescuers had to remove the car seat which Li was pinned to before he was taken to the hospital. He sustained serious organ and tissue damage from the accident.
