A Shanghai woman who arranged a beat-down for her baby-daddy’s wife was sentenced yesterday to eight months’ in detention with one-year reprieve at the Zhabei District People’s Court. If past instances have shown us anything, it’s not never, ever mess with a pregnant, pissed off mistress.
Shanghai Daily reports that the the woman, surnamed Liu, met a man named Xie in 2012 while she working at a nightclub in Pudong. With the understanding that he was divorced, the two got into a relationship, and Liu became pregnant last year in March.
Xie told her to have an abortion, and Liu soon found out that the man was actually married. After mulling things over, Xie promised her that he would leave his wife, who didn’t live in the city, and Liu decided to stay with him.
Eventually, as it happens, Xie’s wife did move to the city, where she found out about the affair. She wasn’t happy, Xie’s sister, who accused Liu of being a home-wrecker, wasn’t happy and Liu wasn’t happy either.
That’s when she contacted a female friend, surnamed Yu, from Shandong province. Yu agreed to travel to Shanghai with a group of people to “teach the wife a lesson”. The woman and her three goons broke into Xie’s house in August and beat up his wife, who suffered a broken jaw and nose as a result.
The three accomplices handed themselves in, and Liu and Yu were arrested three months later. The three men received between five and six moths detention for the attack, with no reprieve.
Liu, however, just had her sentence suspended, as she is pregnant again.
