Four people died and another was injured when they tried to flee from police capture during a raid on a gambling den in Shenzhen, Guangdong province.
Police raided the den in Longgang district early yesterday morning after receiving reports of gambling. When the suspects were alerted to the plain-clothed officers, they ran a out and attempted to avoid capture by jumping from the third floor of the building before police could stop them, according to Xinhua.
Four of the suspects were confirmed dead after jumping. One was injured and is receiving treatment at a local hospital.
Earlier this week, a man suspected of killing a person in Guangdong tried to pull a similar stunt to evade police capture but was caught on a giant safety inflatable and detained.
