Chefs in the City Shanghai hosted its first limited-seating dinner during the second edition of its charity event at 10 Corso Como in Jing’an on Thursday, April 24!
The evening kicked off with a standing appetizer comprised of three lovely amuse-bouche crafted by the chefs, a new secret CITC cocktail with Amaro Lucano and hot and cold cocktails made with Illy coffee.
The event included a five-course dinner and a WOW moment created by the host chef Corrado Michelazzo, as seven kinds of wine were poured throughout the evening courtesy of Chefs in the City sponsors.

Antipasto – Marco Busatti: Rabbit Porchetta with Raspberries, Foie Gras, Caramelized Almonds and Port Wine Sauce
First main course – David Bassan: Liquid Salad with Calamarata Pasta, Cherry Tomato Confit, Buffala
Fish Main Course – Marco Barbieri: April Fool, Cod fish, fried marinated zucchini, smoked provola stew and monkfish foie gras
Meat Main Course – Giuseppe Tino: King Pigeon, Foie Gras, Chocolate and Vin Santo Figs
Dessert – Riccardo Messina: Silcilian Wafer, Pistachio Flavor, Ricotta Cheese and Caramalized Orange
The event also showcased some changes among the chefs. Giuseppe Tino is now the new executive chef of the new restaurant Gaia 2 and David Bassan is the new chef of Maison Pourcel. The biggest change was the fresh entry of Marco Barbieri, from Da Marco Italian restaurant. After years spent “away” from the stove, Marco Barbieri made a comeback with his fish dish “April Fool”.

Chefs in the City is a Shanghai-based no-profit organization made up of of some of the city’s premier Italian chefs, seeking to create the very best of the “Italian culinary experience” with globally sourced ingredients of the highest quality.
