A thief in Nanjing was apprehended by cops after the owner of a house he was robbing came home to find him taking a nap in his bed.
On the morning of May 4, Nanjing cops got a phone call from a man named Chen who had just returned home from a business trip to find a man snoring in his bed, clutching banknotes and a handful of gold necklaces. The police hurried for the scene and carried out investigation instantly, Yangzi Evening Daily reports.
When police arrived, Chen showed them to the bedroom, where they shook the man until he woke up, shocked and surrounded by police.
The suspect, surnamed Wang, said that he’d lost all his money gambling and thought he could make up for it by robbing homes.
At the wee hours of the morning on May 4, he managed to jimmy open Chen’s door and slip in. Wang said that he discreetly grabbed 1200 RMB in cash and three gold necklaces, but grew tired after his five-finger-discount shopping spree and decided to lay down for a rest.
