Two people were killed and two more injured when a car ran into three cyclists and a pedestrian in Shanghai’s Minhang district on Friday.
The car struck a truck and crashed into a green belt around 8:50 a.m. on Fanghe Road, according to Shanghai Daily. Police broke the car open to help the driver out, but two elderly women died on the spot after being hit and a young man and woman were rushed to the hospital with injuries.
“A woman’s shoe and a dusty cap were still lying on the road. There were oil stains as well,” the Daily reports.
The driver, surnamed Wu, was detained by police. They found no traces of drugs or alcohol in Wu’s system.
