Sprout Lifestyle new outlet: Sprout Lifestyle’s newest store has finally taken root in Minhang! Located in the Fashion Park shopping mall across from the Shanghai American School, this bastion of green living in oil-inundated Shanghai offers superfoods, wheat-free, sugar-free and dairy-free snacks and treats, and more! Like the other stores, it will also hold monthly talks and workshops.
Sprout Lifestyle Minhang // 569 Yunle Lu, Ground Floor, Unit #138 (上海市闵行区运乐路569号, 丰尚国际生活中心138铺邮编). Hours: 9am-7pm daily.
Le Vin opening: Another day another wine bar in Jing’an right? Fortunately, Le Vin edges out your average tipple tavern with uncharacteristically hospitable service (you get the wifi password and canapes upon arrival), heartier-than-usual bar bites like duck liver pate, and most of all, agreeable wine prices. Choose from a selection of international wines priced at 39-48RMB a glass.
Le Vin // 936 Changle Lu, by Changshu Lu (长乐路936号, 近常熟路). Tel: (0)21-3256-1506.
Park 91 Pub: Thumbing it’s nose at the recent spate of hokey, Geisha-themed cocktail bars and other gimmicks is Park 91 Pub, a new sports bar on Dagu Lu. With green-felt pool tables, high-caliber TVs decking the walls, cartoonish beer mugs, and wings and burgers, it’s got all the hallmarks of a classic sports pub. We especially like the charitable happy hour: pay 40RMB for two 500ml mugs of Tiger every Monday from 3-10pm. And on Ladies Night on Wednesdays, not only are cocktails half-price, but they host a pool competition as well.
Park 91 Pub // 433 Dagu Lu, near Chengdu Lu (静安区大沽路433号, 近成都路). Tel: (0)21-6327-3160. Hours: 2pm-2am daily.
