Thousands of smiling Chinese and foreign women alike have given their thumbs up and gathered, donning only their bikinis, in the Chimelong Water Park in Guangzhou to form the shape of a giant dolphin as seen from bird’s-eye-view.
Is it an advertising campaign? Is it really just a heartfelt environmental message to eulogise the Baiji Yangtze River dolphin, declared extinct in 2006? Or is it because dolphins are just all-’round good value?
No one really knows. But the dolphin pose sure turned out more successful than previous bikini poses that have gone down in similar Guangdong province contests.
