Not a pretty sight. A Hainan Airlines plane headed from Taiyuan to Xiamen collided with a bird at high altitudes earlier this week, leading to this enormous dent in the nose of the aircraft.
People’s Daily said that there were no casualties caused…

A similar incident happened to an Air China jet last year as it was flying at 8,000 meters and hit an unknown object, leaving a large dent but no evidence of blood. Former editor James Griffiths attributed the collision to Superman (although a Shanghaiist reader under the “alias” Iron Man pointed out that if it were indeed Superman, there would likely be nothing left of the plane).
