Residents of Fuzhou found a little surprise on their streets yesterday when they came across young mothers performing a new kind of flash mob: breastfeeding.
Unlike Mo Lulu, these women weren’t paid to perform. This flash mob was organized to celebrate the upcoming “National Propaganda Day of Breast-feeding” on May 20, a day that promotes on the importance of including breast-feeding rooms in public spaces to provide a safe environment for babies. Zhengzhou’s “lactation rooms” on public buses are an example.
Protestation aside, these young mothers breast-fed in style. According to SinaEnglish, “many of the young mothers dressed up for the activity. They [even] started feeding their babies as the music played, and finished when the music stopped.”
