A 23-year-old fugitive, surnamed Hong, who had been on the run for six months, reportedly underwent plastic surgery so he could go incognito to Chinese pop singer Jay Chou’s concert. He was caught by the police in Hefei railway station right after the concert.
Hong was allegedly a big fan of Jay Chou and had been planning to go to his concert in Hefei for a long time. However, he was afraid of being identified with his iconic black mole under the right eye. Hong had gotten into a fight with his neighbor in his hometown, and fled before he could be apprehended and charged with misdemeanor assault. He came up with idea of going to a plastic surgery facility to get his mole removed and face-shape changed.
According to China News, the police were not able to identify Hong at first, but confirmed it was him after they asked him to show his ID card. Although Hong admitted going to the concert was a tad impulsive, he said that he was happy he got the chance to sit through the whole performance. Hong even asked the police if he could keep the ticket as a souvenir in prison.
