The IMD World Competitiveness Rankings 2014, a survey released by the Swiss IMD Business School, reports that Hong Kong dropped to number four on the list, behind Singapore, Switzerland and the USA.
The survey is divided into four categories: economic performance, infrastructure, government efficiency and business efficiency.
According to South China Morning Post, “the Lion City surpasses Hong Kong in English proficiency and the proportion of adults having finished tertiary education. It also spends more on research and development.”
Pretty eh news for a city that’s supposed to cultivate the most self-made billionaires.
