Shanghai’s advertising big guns joined a speed dating-type event last night along with 80 creative hopefuls for Portfolio Night 12.
It’s the sort of affair no aspiring creative would ever want to miss: you’ve got all Creative Directors in town under one roof for a number of hours actually taking the time to give individual feedback to every young creative hoping to get into the adland. Those who present the most impressive portfolios really do get inside. The big reward after PN is that advertising grads can quickly land an internship or even a job inside the creative department.
Portfolio Night 12 is organized globally by the Art Directors Club and it took place yesterday in 24 cities around the world. The event was hosted in China by Ogilvy & Mather in their Shanghai and Beijing offices, where they gathered “la crème de la crème” of ad agencies in town: Wieden+Kennedy, Y&R, Saatchi&Saatchi, M&C Saatchi aeiou, BBH, BBDO, Civilization, AKQA, Factory Design Labs, DDB or Leagas Delaney, and Mr. Graham Fink himself, representing Ogilvy, among other advertising stars.
