A passenger who left a bag containing 7,000 yuan in cash, among other items, on a No.180 bus last Tuesday night had his belongings returned to him in full on Thursday, according to local reports.
The plastic bag was found behind the driver’s seat when the bus had reached the end of its route at the Shanghai South Railway Station at 9 p.m., and was stuffed with wads of cash, a bank card and bank books with deposits of more than 218,000 yuan. It also contained some pants.
The passenger, around 35 years old, had been sleeping on the bus before he rushed off at the Lianhua Road and Fanghe Road stop around 9 p.m., sans money-bag, according to surveillance footage.
He contacted the bus company the next night, after which the company checked his ID and returned the goods.
Meanwhile, some of us can’t even recover a damn cell phone innocently misplacced at a friendly bar on Yongkang.
(By the way, people really need to stop carrying around bags full thousands of RMB.)
