A woman surnamed Hu escaped a bus through the window after she wrongly thought it was about to burst into flames in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. “I may have made the wrong call,” she later conceded.
Luckily, she only suffered from minor injuries on her arm and head after breaking the bus window with and emergency hammer and escaping through it, reports Ecns.
In response to her commotion, the bus driver immediately pulled over and evacuated the vehicle. A safety check revealed no damage to the bus.
Apparently, breaking bus windows and escaping through them it is quite a common thing to do in Chengdu. Li Ou, head of security for the bus company, explained to GlobalTimes “that cases involving passengers breaking glass to escape have occurred every summer for the past three years.”
