This weekend is all about DAFF— Shanghai’s super-anticipated ‘Design, Art & Fashion Fair’.
Imagined as Shanghai’s biggest lifestyle community event, DAFF aims to give China’s established creatives and rising talents a platform to interact, share ideas and to promote their latest projects. This edition brings on board a number of artist collaborations, making the fair more interactive, while moving the set-up to a new location: a reconverted industrial cement plant on the Xuhui waterside, just next to the Long and Yuz museums and the site of the future Dreamworks Center, in the West Bund Creative Corridor.
Some of the highlights include:
oOver 60 pop-up shops from local and international designers & brands
oFashion shows starting each day at 4:00 p.m.
oIdlebeats screen-printing workshop + DAFF t-shirts & tote bags
oDAFTIDEA’s Interactive Scupture ‘David Is Watching You’
oMusic from Mau Mau, Teasy, El’se, Raz, Lindberg, Will A, Chase Wang, Barezi and Paffers
oLive performance by Reload Crew (graffiti), Shanghai Roller Derby and more!
oArtist Lu Yang’s immersive play-zone
oBasement6 Collective x The Exchange Programme: Film Series
oArt Installations by: MAD HANDS (CN), MELS (US) and more!
oInstallations by The Texture Group
oChill Out Area with delicious food + drinks
oLucky draw prizes
oUber is en event partner and they are offering every new app sign-up 200RMB for the journey to the DAFF venue.
oDAFF After Party on Saturday night, featuring international act Kry Wolf [UK] in the adjacent 2000m² warehouse space.
Here’s what went dow last year’s event (and probably the reason The Ice Cream Truck Creative [TITC] loves planning the event):
