Pictures of this pie hawker from Hangzhou went viral on Chinese social media after microbloggers realized that the man bears an incredible resemblance to Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The vendor, Shao Jianhua, first picked up local celebrity for his delicious meat pies. SCMP reports:
His meat pies, sold at 3.5 yuan (HK$4.33) each, won four stars out of five on Dianping.com, the mainland’s most popular dining guide online, with all of the raters noting the taste, not the look of the peddler.
Online reviews could attest to the popularity of said pies. “ You’d better avoid lunch and dinner hours, or it’s overcrowded,” one user wrote. “The long queue tells how delicious the pies are,” said another.
Microbloggers now want the president to meet his “twin brother.” One netizen from Shanghai believes that “it would be the most important meeting of a century.”
We want to see faux Xi, Liaoning’s Kim Jong-un and this Mao impersonator throw down some rice wine together.
